From October 12^thto 15^th, 2021, the Research Centre of Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing of Shandong University and the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research of the University of Porto, organized the online academic seminars on satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing 2021. These seminars focus on the academic exchange of research progress of Chinese and Portuguese teams, and further discuss the project cooperation, joint training of students and the specific implementation and direction of future collaboration and development. All members of the Research Centre of Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing of Shandong University participated in the seminars in conference Room 211 of WenTian South Building. Because of the existed COVID-19 epidemic, Prof. Luísa Bastos and her team members participated in the seminars online via Tencent/VooV Meeting platform.

In 2019, the Research Centre of Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing of Shandong University has successfully introduced Prof. Luísa Bastos, the director of the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research of the University of Porto, Portugal, including in the Top Foreign Expert of Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Seed Fund for International Research Cooperation of Shandong university. Prof. Luísa Bastos was also appointed as an Adjunct Distinguished Professor of Shandong University in the same year.

The online seminars lasted for four days and were hosted by Dr. Yan Xu. On October 12^th, the first seminar was held as scheduled. At the beginning of the seminar, Prof. Tianhe Xu, the PI of Research Centre of Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing of Shandong University, warmly welcomed Prof. Luísa Bastos and her team members, and summarized the previous project cooperation and talent training achievements of both teams. On the occasion of the 120^thanniversary of Shandong University, Prof. Tianhe Xu introduced the overall development status and achievements of Shandong University and the recent outstanding achievements of Research Centre of Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing. The research progress and article project achievements on BDS/GNSS analysis centre platform construction, GNSS precision products research, BDS/GNSS high-precision application and study of atmospheric water vapor remote sensing, earth gravity field and study of marine navigation, multi-source and integrated national PNT system construction research, GNSS-R technology and application research and spectral/land remote sensing research etc., were specifically demonstrated. After that, Prof. Tianhe Xu introduced the future development direction of the research centre and warmly welcomed and looked forward to the follow-up exchanges and cooperation between the two teams.

Then, Prof. Luísa Bastos from the University of Porto, Portugal expressed sincere thanks to Prof. Tianhe Xu and Dr. Yan Xu of Shandong University for their invitation to the seminars, highly recognized the previous exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, and extended warm congratulations to Shandong University for its 120^thanniversary. Prof. Luísa Bastos introduced the development status of the University of Porto and the team's achievements in several fields, such as precise positioning and navigation technology, airborne gravimetry, real-time mobile mapping, monitoring and charactering coastal systems, the coastal satellite altimetry atmospheric correction technology research etc. At the same time, Prof. Luísa Bastos also presented introduced in detail the research progress of the application of satellite navigation in the field of public services, the high-precision positioning technology based on dual-frequency smartphone observation data, LEO satellite for precise positioning and navigation augmentation and other related hotspot topics. Considering that both teams are located close to the ocean, the cooperative research on marine dynamic environment monitoring will be of great significance to the national economic construction, national defense construction and global change etc.

Afterward, the team members report in detail on their respective research areas. Taking China and the Antarctic region as examples, Dr. Yan Xu introduced the tropospheric delay modeling based on multiple meteorological data and machine learning, and Dr. Wenfeng Nie introduced the research of BDS /GNSS Analysis Center products and related research results of SDU space weather activities. Thus, the first seminar came to the end. Prof. Tianhe Xu highly recognized the smooth going progress of the first seminar, and asked the team members to make persistent efforts to prepare for the following academic presentations, and cherish this precious communication opportunity.

From October 13^thto 15^th, the teachers and students from both teams reported their research progress and held academic discussions, which benefited all a lot. At the end, the two teams respectively summarized the contents and achievements of the seminars. Prof. Luísa Bastos expressed again her sincere thanks to our efforts in organizing and preparing the seminars, and looked forward to the next seminars in the near future and having academic visit to Shandong University for cooperation works.

These online seminars are an important part of the international cooperation between our two teams in case of the actual COVID-19 epidemic situation. The Chinese and Portuguese teams had academic exchanges on the research progress of satellite navigation and remote sensing, and further discussed the direction of project cooperation, joint training of students and future cooperation. The academic discussion in the seminars also provided specific ideas for each member to conduct further research in the future. At the same time, through this international symposium, we successfully show the research strength and outstanding achievements of Research Centre of Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing of Shandong University in the international arena, which would lay a solid foundation for strongly promoting the international influence of Shandong University in the field Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing, as well as further international cooperation.
